This is the fourth installment in our twelve-part A year Outstanding Series, where we share quotes, affirmations, and interesting facts to inspire your outstanding inner self every month of the year.
The first full month of spring is finally upon us. Though often thought of as a month of wet and rainy weather, April symbolizes renewal and rebirth. Poets and writers have long considered the month’s wetness akin to a kind of “thawing” of winter’s frozen landscape. Similarly, water brings life, and so does April bring the birth of new flora to support a whole ecosystem of animal life emerging from hibernation or returning from migration. Indeed, April is a consequential month for nature.
Beyond that, human culture has infused April with layers of additional meaning by means of various rituals and holidays celebrated during this month. April Fools’ Day is perhaps the most notorious of April’s holidays. Celebrated on the first of April, April Fools’ Day is broadly accepted as a time to engage in good-hearted pranks and trickery. Overall, it’s a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously, to let loose and have a little fun.
Here is our collection of our absolute favorite quotes and interesting facts about the month of April.
